What We Should Expect From A “Senator” O’Donnell

October 31, 2010

If on Tuesday, November 2nd, Christine O’Donnell is elected as the next U.S. senator from the state of Delaware, what should we expect ?

Well as someone who has been a supporter of Ms. O’Donnell’s since her write in campaign in 2006, I think I know exactly what to expect from her as my senator. I know this because, having talked with her then and during her run in 2008 and in this most recent campaign. I know that she hasn’t changed her positions on the big issues.

In my opinion we can expect “Senator” O’Donnell to go to Washington and deliver on her promises of fighting to protect our individual Liberties.

Christine O’Donnell will be a no vote on cap-and-trade. This legislation would increase the energy cost for Delaware citizens at least $1,200.00. This does not include the increase in the cost of every product produced or transported in this nation. Cap and trade would affect the poorest among us the most. Christine O’Donnell has stated that she will vote against it.

Christine O’Donnell will be a vote to de-fund and repeal Obama care. This wrong-headed idea of so-called health care reform, is nothing more than a way for the federal government to take over every aspect of our lives. Obama care will allow the federal government to monitor everything from what you eat, to what you do for recreation. It will allow the IRS to have actual access to your bank accounts. Not just to monitor how much you have, but to do withdrawals. It will nationalize 1/6th of our national economy. Christine O’Donnell has pledged to vote to de-fund and repeal Obama care. And to work to make real reforms in health care insurance and to reform tort law.

We should expect Christine O’Donnell as our U.S. Senator to work to cut wasteful spending on entitlement programs. She will work to secure our borders and to solve the illegal immigration issues.  She will vote against card check, which would eliminate the secret ballot for union elections and when unionizing shops.

I believe that we can expect her to work to repeal the death tax permanently. The death tax that penalizes our small farmers the most. That she will vote to extend the Bush tax cuts. To reduce the capital gains tax. That she will work to cut taxes and spending wherever it is possible. And in so doing, she will be working also to create jobs, because if we cut taxes on the middle class and the small businesses, then the economy will grow and jobs will be created.

When Christine O’Donnell is elected as the next senator from the state of Delaware, I think we can expect, that we should expect, that she will work for the people of Delaware. That she will govern by the will of the people. That she will govern based on our Founding principles. That she will take seriously her oath of office to uphold and to protect the Constitution of the United States of America.

This is why I am voting for Christine O’Donnell on November 2nd, and it is why I am encouraging everyone to vote for her also. Not because I say so, not for her, not for yourselves, but for the future of this nation. For the children of today and tomorrow. So that my child and your children can work to provide a better life for their children. So that at some point in the future people will look back at this moment in history and say, ” the citizens of  Delaware stood up to the elitist and power brokers and special interest groups and said, enough”.

So while I encourage you to vote for Christine O’Donnell and the many other candidates who hold the same views, let me encourage you to vote no matter what your ideology may be. Because it is through our political process that we show our strength to endure. God Bless the United States of America.

You Rang ?

October 30, 2010

                                                        ” You Rang?”

” Chris, did I ever tell you that I served in Vietnam?”

WOW! Chris Coons keeps showing up with the “best” of the left, doesn’t he?

Let’s see. So far he has a president that has run the nation into near double-digit unemployment and historical debt and deficit. He has a vice president with chronic foot in mouth disorder. And now a senator who is best known for coming back from Vietnam and telling the world that his fellow servicemen were baby killers. Who most recently accused our troops in Iraq of kicking in doors in the middle of the night and harassing women and children, for no reason. Oh yeah, he also ran for president and lost. Great endorsements Mr. Coons. You just keep on telling the people of Delaware exactly the kind of senator you would be, by the people who endorse you.

Is Our Political Process Sexist ?

October 30, 2010

In light of the most recent attack on the Republican candidate for the U.S. Senate from the state of Delaware, Christine O’Donnell. And also the treatment that she and other women who dare to enter the political arena are forced to endure, much of which no man is put through.

I had intended to write my own post, giving my opinion of the sexist state that our political process seems to be in. But it would have been from a man’s point of view, and possibly would have seemed condescending or even sexist.

So instead I am going to link to this article by Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison. She is the senior U.S. Senator from the state of Texas. In 2001 she was named one of the thirty most powerful women in America by The Ladies Home Journal.  She has been in politics since 1972 when she was a Texas state Representative. She has also been a bank executive.

While I may not agree with Sen. Hutchinson on some issues, it is clear that she has a right to speak out about the treatment of female candidates. So here is a link to her editorial titled: ” Stop Insulting Female Candidates And Start Playing Fair”.

Nuts Or Sluts

October 29, 2010

First let me make it clear that the title phrase is not mine originally. I first heard it on the Rush Limbaugh Show. He used it to describe the way that women who run for office in general and conservative candidates in particular are treated.

It seems that if a conservative woman decides to run for office, what she really runs, is the risk of being labeled either  crazy or being slutty. Well now with the latest attack on Christine O’Donnell it would seem that her opponent and his legion have decided to do both.

The latest accusation involves a story on a website that is known for its sleazy reporting. I won’t give them a link because I won’t be a part of promoting their style of entertainment.

The story stems from a person who supposedly spent a night with Ms. O’Donnell three years ago. This person who is not identified makes the accusation that Ms. O’Donnell went to a bar, got drunk, went back to his apartment, and passed out in his bed. Oh! And nothing happened.

To me the real story in this is that a person unwilling to be revealed is given any credibility at all. But more than that, what troubles me is that this is what our political process has been reduced to. No longer do we have discussions of the issues, instead we have tabloid news. Instead of discussing the facts, we are reduced to talking about at best, something that may or may not have actually happened .

When the story about the allegation of Mike Castle came out I was offended by it. I made it clear I did not condone it and would not discuss it. This is exactly the same type of low gutter politics. Anyone who sees this as a deciding factor in an election as important as this one, is not paying attention. Anyone who does not see this for exactly what it is, is allowing the opponents of Ms. O’Donnell to have their way.

This is clearly a set up by the Coons campaign. We are to believe that something that happened three years ago is just by chance coming out five days before the election. One must wonder since there is no actual person attached to this story, does he really exist? And if he does and if this happened the way he says it did, why has he waited so long to come out? Could it be that he is being paid by the Coons campaign? I am more inclined to think that he doesn’t even exist.

But what if he does? His story is that she drank beer. She was of legal age. He says she came on to him. He was not a minor and both were single. He says the situation got to a point where she told him nothing would be happening sexually. So a grown single woman went to a bar with a grown single man and had some drinks and then didn’t have sex. Now there is a story.

Let me make this clear. I know the type of responses that this sort of garbage is likely to generate. I will remove any comment that is rude or crude. I ask all who want to comment to keep it clean, and to consider if these sort of accusations were being made about your sister, how would you feel.

What Can We Expect From “Senator” Chris Coons ?

October 25, 2010

I have to wonder how many people have taken the time to stop and consider just what we could expect if Chris Coons were to be elected as the next senator from Delaware.

First let’s look at were Mr. Coons has been, so as to see where he might be headed.

As a member of and also as the County Executive of New Castle County Council, Chris Coons has been a tax and spend, big government party wonk.

He promised voters that he wouldn’t raise taxes and then did, by 48%. He supported tax increases on utilities, hotel stays, ambulance services and even 911 calls.

He increased wasteful spending by over 30%. And pissed away a $200 million surplus, putting New Castle County at risk of losing its AAA Bond rating and possibly bankruptcy.

So ! Now we know a little about the type of politician that Chris Coons is. Knowing this, we can make a fair guess at what type of U.S. Senator that he would be.

I believe that we can expect Chris Coons to toe the line for the Obama administration on some very radical agenda items. This is even more worrisome because this is a special election. That means that the winner will be seated immediately after the election. We know that Sen. Harry Reid and Speaker Pelosi are planning a lame duck session after the election.

I am sure that Sen. Reid, who described Chris Coons as his pet, would love to have Chris Coons in that lame duck session, instead of the Republican Christine O’Donnell.

What are some of the important issues that we can expect the Reid,Pelosi, Obama axis of  leftism to try to push through congress ?

You can bet that cap-and-trade will be moved on. This would result in the highest tax increase on every citizen in the history of the nation. Chris Coons supports cap-and-trade.

The Bush tax cuts are set to expire unless congress does something to stop it. If these tax cuts expire they too will result in increased taxes. Again placing a burden on citizens during these tough economic times. Chris Coons is in favor of allowing the Bush Tax cuts to expire. And in so doing, he supports raising your taxes. Oh, he’ll tell you that he ahs changed his mind. And you can bet he’ll change it again if elected.

Amnesty for illegals is also likely to come up in the lame duck session. Chris Coons has spoken of his support for a “path to citizenship”, this is code speak for amnesty.

Chris Coons would support “card check”. This would eliminate the secret ballot when unionizing shops. This is a sop to the organized labor unions like the SEIU and LUNA who have dumped thousands of dollars into the Coons campaign fund.

Chris Coons would oppose the de-funding and repeal of Obama care. Doctors from around the state of Delaware have come out in support of Christine O’Donnell. Why? Because she has stated clearly that she would vote to de-fund and repeal Obama care. If Obama care is allowed to be implemented, it will not only raise the cost of health care, but it will lower the quality of our health care. Chris Coons has said on more than one occasion that he supports Obama care.

Let us not forget that one of the most important roles a senator plays within the Senate is the confirmation of Supreme Court Justices. So what type of Justice would appeal to “SENATOR” Chris Coons?

Well Chris Coons believes that separation of church and state exist within the First Amendment. He believes that a mere conversation about creationism, constitutes a state-run religion. Chris Coons also believes that the Constitution is just a suggestion about how to govern the nation. Chris Coons sees the Constitution as nothing more than a political tool to be molded and twisted to suit the political needs of those who would use it to hold their political power. One can only assume that Chris Coons sees the Constitution as a document of negative rights, the same as does Pres. Obama.

So we can assume that if this is who Chris Coons is, when it comes to constitutional issues, then this is the type of Justices he would seek to confirm.

At a time when states are challenging the federal government on issues of sovereignty over illegal immigration and Obama care, can we risk allowing a man such as Chris Coons to be any part of confirming Supreme Court Justices?

So now I come back to the original question. What can we expect from a “SENATOR” Chris Coons? We can expect just another tax and spend, big government Democrat. We can expect a senator that will cower before the Executive branch of the federal government. We can expect a senator that will be a pet to Harry Reid. We can expect a senator that has no respect for the Founding principles of this nation. And a senator that would gladly shred the Founding documents if it meant holding onto power.

Our nation is a t a cross-road. We must decide whether we will steer a path of freedom and individual Liberty. Or will we allow the Chris Coons of the world to destroy what has stood for so long? Will we vote for a future where our children and their children can grow up knowing that they will have the same opportunities that we had? Or will we allow the Chris Coons of the world to rob them of that which they were endowed by their Creator, life Liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

This is what is at stake on November 2nd and no less. We the Delaware voters must make these choices. Will we vote for Chris Coons and all he stands for. Or will we elect Christine O’Donnell who believes in and who will fight to protect our God-given rights. A person who holds dear our Founding principles. For me the choice is an easy one. I will vote for Liberty, I will vote for Christine O’Donnell.

Chris Coons Believes That The Constitution Is Just A Suggestion

October 22, 2010

The latest demonstration by Mr. Coons, who is the Democrat candidate for the U.S. Senate from the state of Delaware, proves that he either has no understanding of constitutional governance, or no respect for it.

I am inclined to believe it is the latter after his latest gaffe in a debate with his Republican opponent  Christine O’Donnell. I use the word gaff only because I believe he would rather no one would have picked up on it, not that he doesn’t believe it.

In the debate Mr. Coons hurled what he believed to be some sort of insult or accusation. He basically said that ” Christine believes that you can govern by the Constitution alone”.  So one has to wonder what Mr. Coons would use as the guiding influence if he were elected.

The World Book Encyclopedia Dictionary defines constitution as : the fundamental principles according to which a nation, state, or group is governed.

The World Book Dictionary then defines, the Constitution as: the written set of fundamental principles by which the United States is governed.

I suppose that it is the idea of guiding principle that may be giving Mr. Coons a problem since he doesn’t seem to have any. His constant flip-flopping on whether he would repeal or extend the Bush tax cuts shows that he will tell anybody, anything, to get elected.

But truly his disregard for the founding principles of this nation should trouble every freedom loving American. One has to wonder, is Mr. Coons another of these, one world neophytes, that believe we should surrender our sovereignty to the U.N., that we should drop our borders to allow any and all to just walk in? Would a  Senator Coons look to European law for governing guidance as some Sumpreme Court Justices have suggested? Is this the litmus test Mr. Coons would use for confirming justices? Would a Senator Coons confirm Sumpreme Court Justices that have as little respect for the Constitution as he does?

I think from his statements about the First Amendment being the definition of separation of church and state, and now this statement about the Constitution not being the last word in governing the nation, clearly defines Mr. Coons as just another leftist who would dismantle our individual Liberties. Liberties that are the basis of our national freedoms, which the Constitution enumerates and guarantees.

We as Delaware voters cannot allow this man to be elected to such a high office as U.S. Senator, when he obviously holds such distain for our founding principles.

On November 2nd we must send Christine O’Donnell to the U.S. Senate, a person who understands the Constitution and who holds it in the high regard that it deserves.
